Fish oil is extracted from fatty fish—such as tuna, salmon, anchovies, or mackerel—whereas cod liver oil is made specifically from the liver of cod. Yes, cod liver oil contains both vitamin A and vitamin D. These vitamins are naturally present in the product, so their levels are not artificially standardized in the formula. As a result, the concentration of vitamins may vary slightly due to natural seasonal fluctuations.
